— Nine boys and girls from the Cullman Swim Association are on their way to Nashville today to compete in the Southeastern Swimming Championships on Friday through Sunday.

The unprecedented number of CSA participants advanced to the regional meet by posting qualifying times in their respective events earlier in the season.

The qualifying individuals and their events are as follows:

% Reagan Martin: 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle, 200-yard individual medley, 100-yard butterfly, 100-yard backstroke, 100-yard IM and 50-yard butterfly

% Reese McNeel: 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard IM, 100-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, 50-yard backstroke, 50-yard freestyle and 50-yard butterfly

% Ed Johnson: 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard IM, 100-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke, 50-yard breaststroke, 50-yard freestyle and 50-yard butterfly

The CSA has never been represented by a relay team at the Southeastern event but will send two to the Nashville Aquatic Club for the 2013 version.

Martin, McNeel, Ogstad and Adams will make up the 10-and-under girls relay, while Ed Johnson, Wes Johnson, Cannon Trimble and Sawyer Trimble will look to make a splash in the 10-and-under boys relay.

A few Cullman swimmer have already qualified for the Age Group Sectionals, which will be held March 7-10 in Greensboro, N.C. Others will try to follow suit at this weekend's competition.
