Wallace State’s basketball teams each notched road victories at Columbia (Tenn.) State on Wednesday.
The Lions’ men prevailed 59-47, snapping a three-game losing skid behind Jacquise Moore’s third double-double of the season. The sophomore guard finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Jamalcolm Griffin scored a team-high 16 points for Wallace State, Ryan King poured in 14 and freshman Jestin Lewis contributed 10 points, six rebounds and five assists.
The Lions (6-3) led 31-28 at the half.
Women
‰ Wallace State 67, Columbia State 48: The Lady Lions dominated the second half, pulling away from Columbia State after being tied at 25-25 at halftime. Freshman Jaylan Snowden led Wallace State with 13 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
Ashley Nance added nine points and seven rebounds for the Lady Lions, Jorden Quick, a Cullman grad, had nine points, Presley Darling had eight points and collected seven rebounds, and Kendall Greene finished with six points and six rebounds.
Wallace State (5-3) outrebounded Columbia State 61-48.
Both Lion squads will host Wallace-Selma on Saturday, beginning with the women’s game at 2 p.m.
