LOCAL SWIMMING: Cullman diving team takes first place at state

OPELIKA — The Cullman diving team took first place at state this past weekend in Opelika.

There were six first-place finishes, with Anna Trevarthen placing first in both the girls 13- to 14-year-old girls 1-meter and 3-meter dives. Michael Bentley also grabbed first in both of those dives for the boys in the same age group.

Anna Evans placed first on the 1-meter dive for the 11- to 12-year-old girls, and Kelly Warren finished first in the 10-and-under 1-meter dive.

In the 11- to 12-year-old boys age group, Neil Norris took second in the 1-meter dive. Seth Campbell also brought home a second-place finish for the 13- to 14-year-old boys.  Additionally, Hannah Ogstad was second in the 10-and-under girls.

In the 10-and-under girls division, Reese McNeel snagged third in the 1-meter, while Cort McNeel finished sixth at that distance for the 10-and-under boys.

In the 15-to-18 age group, John Evans finished fourth in the 3-meter and fifth in the 3-meter; Chaz Brouillette was fourth in the 1-meter and fifth in the 3-meter; and Zab Dahlke took sixth in the 1-meter.
