The Cullman Swim Team was represented well at the Madison Medal Meet Saturday at the Dublin Park Recreation Center Swimming Pool in Madison. In total, nine Catfish returned home with gold medals from their respective events, while nine others earned silver or bronze.
Samuel Stewart, Elijah Price and Charis Peek led all Cullman swimmers with two victories apiece.
Stewart pulled off the feat in the 9- to 10-year-old age group, winning the boys 50- and 100-yard freestyle. He also finished with silver in the 50-yard butterfly A-division and bronze in the 100-yard butterfly.
Price grabbed the gold in the 50- and 100-yard backstroke for the 12-and-under boys division. He added a silver in the 100-yard freestyle A-division, as well as a bronze in the 50-yard freestyle A-division.
Peek was dominant in the 11- to 12-year-old girls age group, swimming to gold in the 100-yard butterfly and 50-yard butterfly B-division.
Six other Catfish — Bennett Glasscock, Noah Price, Sarah Peel, Reagan Martin, Hannah Ogstad and Morgan Matz — ended the day with gold medals dangling around their necks.
Glasscock was the victor in the 13-and-over 100-yard butterfly. The St. Bernard swimmer also snagged silver in the 100-yard backstroke and bronze in the 50-yard breaststroke A-division.

Peel pulled away for gold in the 11- to 12-year-old girls 50-yard breastroke A-division. She also took silver in the 100-yard IM A-division and third in the 100-yard freestyle A-division.
Martin’s gold came in the 12-and-under 50-yard butterfly B-division, going nicely with the bronze she earned in the 200-yard IM.
Cullman’s last golds came from Ogstad in the 9- to 10-year-old girls 50-yard freestyle B-division and Matz in the 13- to 14-year-old girls 50-yard backstroke B-division.
