PREP BASKETBALL: Eagles rout Oakman, stay perfect on year
DORA — DORA — Another game. Another win.
Just another day at the gym for the Cold Springs High boys basketball team.
The Eagles kept their perfect record intact Saturday morning, handing Oakman a 77-41 loss in the Coaches Versus Cancer event at Dora.
Cold Springs (5-0) jumped out to a double-digit lead early, opening the game with a 23-8 run in the first quarter. The Eagles led by 20 at the end of the third and outscored the Wildcats 18-2 in the final eight minutes of regulation.
Justin Aby led Cold Springs with a game-high 20 points and Nathan Lamb added 16. Chayse Elliott and Nic Blanks poured in 11 points each, while Joseph Burleson and Ryan Hardin added six points each.
Jesse Lay scored four points for Cold Springs and Nick Parker tossed in three.
Cold Springs hosts Fairview Tuesday in an early-season matchup that could be pivotal in the Cullman County tournament seeding. The Eagles follow with a game against Meek Wednesday in the Hanceville Thanksgiving Tournament.

That time finally came in the fourth quarter.
Aycock poured in 15 points in the final period, leading Good Hope High to a 72-55 win over Vinemont in the Class 3A, Area 12 title game Monday night.
