PREP ROUNDUP: St. Bernard girls soccer, Warrior, Bronco, Saint baseball, Vinemont, Cullman softball earn Tuesday wins



% West Point 5, Good Hope 2: The Lady Warriors notched a four-run fourth inning on Tuesday night to take home a W over the Raiders.

Karlee Beck picked up the victory for West Point, striking out 10 batters and scattering seven hits. Darby Randolph earned a tough loss with a line of four hits, five walks and five whiffs.

Jamie Beasley and Daeshia Smith each notched a hit and an RBI apiece for the Warriors.

Alannah Henke collected three base knocks for Good Hope, while Maegan Sterling and Bailey Starnes also netted hits.

% Cullman 7, Bob Jones 4: The Class 6A Patriots are the kind of school that seem to be good at just about every sport they play.

That's what made the Lady Bearcats' three-run road triumph all the more meaningful on Tuesday.

Olivia Schwaiger earned the win on the mound. Kaitlyn Brannon had two hits and scored two runs. Sierra Easterwood popped a two-run double, while Hannah Morton and Tiffani Schwaiger each had a hit and an RBI in the victory.

The Black and Gold will hold their home opener on Thursday versus Cordova, the foe they recently bested to kick off the 2014 campaign.

% Meek 16, St. Bernard 1: The first pitch of the year for the Lady Saints belonged to Zoie Wilson, who walloped her first-ever home run to start her senior season off with a bang.

St. Bernard will be off until a home game next Thursday against Decatur Heritage.


Prep Soccer

Cullman's girls and boys found themselves on the winning side of respective blowouts over the past two days.

The Bearcat boys crushed Muscle Shoals 9-0 Monday, while the Black and Gold girls slammed Decatur Heritage 7-0 Tuesday.
