LOCAL SWIMMING: Catfish crush Albertville in early season action

CULLMAN — The Cullman Swim Team blew its competition out of the water Tuesday, easily doubling up Albertville in the friendly confines of the Aquatic Center.

A whopping 14 multi-event winners, as well as a sweep of the medley relays, propelled the Catfish to their 503-point total. The visitors mustered only 209.

Sarah Peel and Charis Peek showed out for the 13- to 14-year-old girls, leading a group of five CST members with three individual victories apiece. Sawyer Trimble (9-10 boys), Colby Hutson (13-14 boys) and Jaedyn Martin (8-and-under girls) were the squad's other top performers.

Hannah Ogstad and Claire Ogstad repped the 11- to 12-year-old girls with a pair of triumphs, as did Jonah Hilb and Cannon Trimble in the same age group on the boys side. Brody Schaefer (9-10 boys), Jacob Thiot (13-14 boys), Peyton Arnold (6U girls), Mollie Woods (9-10 girls) and Kacie Donaldson (15-18 girls) rounded out the CST's two-event winners.

The Catfish will take their unblemished record to Boaz on Thursday.
