CULLMAN — Addison High’s quest for another state volleyball title will begin early in the morning, while Good Hope will have to wait until afternoon to take the court.
The Alabama High School Athletic Association unveiled the brackets for the Elite Eight this past week, setting the times for Wednesday’s first round of the state tournament.
The event will be held at the Pelham Civic Complex.
Class 2A No. 1 Addison (66-3) will face Shades Mountain Christian (21-8) in the state quarterfinals at 8 a.m. on Court 2. If the Bulldogs advance, they will play Leroy or Geraldine in the semifinals Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. on Court 2.
In Class 3A, seventh-ranked Good Hope (38-15) will face Cottage Hill (14-30) in the quarterfinals Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. on Court 2. If the Raiders advance, they will play either Danville or Montgomery Academy in the semifinals Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. on Court 2.
The 3A championship match is scheduled for Thursday at 9 a.m., with the 2A title match scheduled for 3 p.m.
Addison reached the Elite 8 by sweeping Fyffe in the sub-state round, while Good Hope swept New Hope.
