COLUMBIA, Tenn. — Wallace State is touting its first three-game win streak of the early 2013 college baseball season after picking up a pair of victories on the road against Volunteer State (Tenn.) on Wednesday.

Andrew Dennis and Nathan Vincent provided the pop at the plate for the Lions in a 6-2 decision to open the doubleheader, while Jeremy Melton notched the win on the mound. Dennis finished 3 for 4 with three RBIs, and Vincent had a home run.

With one hit already to his credit in the second game of the day, Jeremiah Tullidge put Wallace State on top for good in the seventh inning with a two-run triple en route to a 5-3 victory.

Wes Gillespie was the winning pitcher, while Alex Hegner snagged the save.

The Lions, now 5-2, will travel to Andalusia on Saturday for a doubleheader against Lurleen B. Wallace Community College and Enterprise-Ozark Community College.
