With Hanceville and Vinemont having played two close games earlier in the season, it came as no surprise to anyone that the third matchup came down to the wire as well.
In the end though, it was the Bulldogs who prevailed by a score of 58-52 in overtime, sealing a 3-0 season record against their area foe and securing a spot in the area finals.

The win guarantees at least a sub-regional bout for Hanceville, while the loss ends the season for Todd Johnson’s squad.
The Bulldogs will face off against top-seeded Danville on Monday at 6:30 p.m. for the Class 3A, Area 13 crown.
Hanceville is 0-2 on the year against the Hawks, but both games have been razor-thin decisions by a combined five points.
Danville, meanwhile, advanced to the finals earlier in the evening by defeating Good Hope 58-51.
Alex Cofer collected 22 points on the night, while Andrew Cofer was good for seven. With the loss, the Raiders’ season also comes to a close.
