GOOD HOPE —
On a chilly October night, the Good Hope Raiders met their match Friday at home, as the Winfield Pirates dominated the scoring in a 33-6 final.
The Pirates' ground game barreled through the Raiders’ lackluster defense for much of the fast-paced contest.
Christopher Raper led Good Hope in the first half with 22 yards on eight carries and a touchdown. The first half ended with a Raider interception of Winfield quarterback Edward McCollum.
Shortly after intermission, Winfield delivered once again with a dominating running game. Kody Nixon broke one tackle at the 7:02 mark in the third quarter for a touchdown.
Good Hope managed to score one touchdown; however, the PAT was no good.
The Raiders will have the opportunity to snap their seven-game skid next week on the road versus West End.
