Good Hope came up just short in its bid for first-place hardware, dropping a 33-27 defensive struggle to Class 4A Madison County in the championship game of the Snead State Thanksgiving Classic on Friday.
Katelyn Bishop led the Raiders (3-4) with nine points, while Celest Whisenant was good for seven. Kayla Scott finished her night with six points. Sierra Kinser collected five in the loss.
Good Hope will host Hayden on Tuesday.
% Good Hope 39, Minor 33: The Raiders earned their way into the title game with a come-from-behind victory over the Tigers on Friday.
Kacy Thomas made a couple of big 3-pointers, and the Good Hope D held steady to upstage Minor late in the game.
Thomas finished with 14 points, while Kaylee Maddux added eight. Whisenant netted seven in the win. Scott was good for six as well.
