LADY HAWKS THANKSGIVING CLASSIC: Elliott, Oneonta overwhelm Cold Springs in 61-32 win

DANVILLE — Oneonta's Destiney Elliott scored 24 points, and the Class 4A Redskins shut down a potent Cold Springs' offense to pick up a 61-32 win at the Lady Hawks Thanksgiving Classic on Friday.

The Eagles (7-3) were paced by Chloe Harbison's nine points. Other Eagle contributors included Caitlyn Hall, eight points; Haley Freeman, five; Emme Willoughby, Bailey West and McKinnley Davis, three; and Rilee White, two.

Tammy West's squad will travel to Fairview on Tuesday.

% Cold Springs 56, Danville 43: Freeman and West shot lights out from behind the arc to help the Eagles oust the home team with a consolation-bracket win Friday at the Lady Hawks Thanksgiving Classic.

Freeman knocked down four out of her last five 3-point attempts and 6 of 10 overall to account for an 18-point outing. Not to be outdone, West nailed her first four out of five 3-point attempts and 4 of 8 overall en route to a 16-point performance.

Other Eagle contributors were Willoughby, 10 points; Harbison, eight; and Davis and Hall, two.

Sydney Shelton had Danville’s high mark with 15 points.

% Oneonta 46, Holly Pond 40: The Broncos' bid to take home tournament gold came to an end with a six-point loss to the Class 4A Redskins on Friday afternoon.

Holly Pond (6-2) trailed at the quarter breaks 11-8, 19-16 and 37-25.

Melissa Clingman paced the Green and White with 11 points. Meg Gambrill and Natasha Holcombe also contributed 10 and eight points each, respectively.

Abby Blackwood collected 22 points for Oneonta in the win.

The Broncos will break until Tuesday, when they'll host area foe J.B. Pennington.

% Holly Pond 50, Danville 41: Gambrill led all scorers with 23 points, as the Green and White picked up their seventh win on the season over the Hawks on Friday.

Holcombe — nine points — and Clingman —seven — also contributed in the win.
