PREP VOLLEYBALL: Cold Springs wins 9th straight match, beats Fairview

COLD SPRINGS — One day after improving to 4-0 in Class 2A Area 11 with a three-set road win against Lamar County, the Cold Springs volleyball team returned home to take care of county-rival Fairview in three sets — 25-15, 25-16, 25-21 — on Tuesday.

The Eagles have now won nine straight matches dating back to Sept. 1, according to the Alabama High School Athletics Association.

Karlee Perdue was a consistent contributor with eight assists, seven kills, four tips and two aces, while Brittany Hopkins had five aces, four kills and three digs.

Haven Watson pitched in four tips, two aces, two digs and one kill. Hayden West was good for three kills, one block and one dig.

Cold Springs will host Holly Pond and Vinemont for a tri-match on Thursday. Fairview will host Oneonta.

% Cold Springs 2, Fairview 0: The wins just keep on coming for the Eagles' JV squad.

Keegan Johnson had 10 assists, four digs, three aces and a tip in their latest victory, and Hanna Wilson added five kills, four aces and three tips. Alexis Smith had four kills, two aces and one tip.
