CULLMAN —
The Cullman Christian volleyball team found a way to stay perfect at home on Tuesday night.
But it wasn’t easy.
Lions’ coach Jason White said the team was “plagued by errors we hadn’t seen in several weeks” against Tabernacle Christian, yet still managed to win in three sets — 26-24, 25-15, 25-22.
Cullman Christian was without Yancey York, who White said is sick and could miss the rest of the season. Replacing that kind of presence at this late juncture in the 2012 campaign isn’t ideal for the 14-0 Lions.
“We’re having to find a whole new identity at the end of the season, which is never easy,” the coach said.
Christine Aldijaili was Cullman Christian’s top performer on Tuesday. She had 11 assists, nine kills, two aces, one dig and one save.
“She did a little bit of everything,” White said of Aldijaili.
Haley White contributed 11 kills, nine assists and one ace, while Holly Gray had two aces, Raley Warner pitched in two digs, Jordan Canaday added a dig and Lauren Sawyer nailed a kill.
The Lions will return home Thursday night to play Flint Hill.
