There shouldn’t be any introductions necessary before the opening game of the Class 5A state championship baseball series Friday.
When Cullman High takes the field in Montgomery, there will be a familiar team in the opposing dugout: Charles Henderson.
Charles Henderson advanced the state championship series Saturday, beating St. Paul’s 11-0 in the third-and-decisive game of the south semifinal series.
Cullman defeated Charles Henderson earlier this season at home, but that’s not the only time the two programs have played.
In 2004, Cullman fell to Charles Henderson in the Class 5A state finals.
The Bearcats have won two state titles since 2002 — including last year’s crown.
