Since returning from the holiday break, St. Bernard’s girls basketball team has been on roll — winning three straight after Monday night’s 68-24 thrashing of West End-Walnut Grove. For the second straight night, senior guard Brittney Schaefers led the Saints in scoring. She tossed in 21 points while adding eight rebounds, six assists and six steals. Natalie Kelley followed with 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists, while Julia Wimberly added 14 points and eight rebounds. Kayla Wilson led West End with nine points. St. Bernard travels to Vinemont Thursday night. Good Hope 53, J.B. Pennington 14: The Raiders used a dominant defensive performance to remain unbeaten in Class 3A, Area 12 play. Good Hope (14-6, 5-0) held Pennington to only three points in the first half. The Tigers trailed 42-9 at the end of the third quarter. Kayla Elrod led Good Hope with 19 points, five rebounds and five steals, while Nina Mills added 13 points, nine steals and six assists. Erica Speegle led the Raiders with eight rebounds. Shauna Sivley led Pennington with nine points. Holly Pond 47, Fairview 35: The host Broncos grabbed the victory over Cullman County rival Fairview despite committing 20 turnovers. Cydney Morris led a balanced attack for Holly Pond (15-7) with 12 points, while Haley Bagwell and Kelsey Hawkins added nine each. Haley Terry finished with eight for the Broncos, who forced 24 Fairview turnovers. Courtney Strong and Kayla Schnittker led Fairview (3-13) with seven points apiece.
