Ticket prices, sale date announced for Rock the South 2013

Festival will feature Sara Evans, Hank Williams, Jr., etc.

CULLMAN — Rock the South organizers have announced ticket prices for this year’s two-day concert festival, which will feature three ticket levels ranging from general admission to VIP passes.

A one-day general admission ticket will cost $30, while a general admission weekend pass will cost $49. One thousand two-day Platinum passes, with access to a viewing area near the stage behind the VIP zone and a T-shirt, have been set at $89. Five hundred VIP tickets will be available at a cost of $169 each, which includes an event T-shirt, laminate pass, VIP parking, a private concession area, private portable toilet access, and access to a VIP viewing area directly in front of the stage

Children five-years-old and younger will be admitted for free.

Ticket prices are a fairly steep increase from last year’s $10 general admission cost, but organizers say the change is necessary to afford larger acts for the festival.

The prices are comparable to large and mid-size music festivals in the area, and still come in lower than most major country music festivals.

Tickets are scheduled to go on sale at 10 a.m. on March 29. They will be available online at and at select locations such as the Cullman Civic Center and Berkeley Bob's Coffee House. More locations will also be announced.

Rock the South 2013 is set for June 21-22 at Heritage Park and will feature performances by Sara Evans, Hank Williams, Jr., The Band Perry and American Idol winner Scotty McCreery. More acts will be announced in the coming weeks.
