Weather:

Today: A 20 percent chance of rain before 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 50. West wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 33. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Looking ahead:

Get your tickets for Empty Bowls! First United Methodist Church in Cullman will hold the 10th annual chili dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, in the church’s Hearin Hall. Tickets are $10 at Cullman Caring For Kids, First United Methodist Church, or St. John’s Evangelical Protestant Church. There’ll be a silent auction — and live music with The Revelations, The Potentials, Enell Baker and Shannon Green. All proceeds will benefit the Cullman Caring For Kids Food Bank.

Life Church’s annual fundraiser: The Run, Bike, Skate and Walkathon will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Sportsman Lake Park. All proceeds will go to send a team for relief work in Haiti this summer. For each person that obtains $25 in pledges, they will receive a free T-shirt. Also, balloons, face painting and food. For Kids’ Sake Variety Show: The Cullman Regional Medical Center Foundation proudly announces the 13th Bownes Memorial For Kids’ Sake Variety Show at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, in the Wallace State Community College Betty Leeth Haynes Student Center. The doors open at 1:30 p.m. Program direction and event support for the 2013 Variety Show is provided by a variety of individuals, the community and members of the CRMC Service Guild. Admission is $5 in advance and $10 at the door.
