1st alcohol license issued; legal sales begin

Updated: With video

CULLMAN — The first alcohol license in the City of Cullman was issued Tuesday afternoon — and legal sales began just a few minutes later, at a Cullman convenience store.

The Catoma Mart, at the intersection of Eva Road and Alabama Hwy. 157, was approved by the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Board earlier this week, and finalized paperwork with city hall at approximately 1:40 p.m.

A beer distributor was on hand to unload stock soon after the license was issued, and sales began at about 2:15 p.m.
