— Cullman County sheriff’s deputies arrested a Vinemont man Wednesday for allegedly making terrorist threats, after he threatened to bring harm to his family.

Terry Fritz Hudson, 62, was arrested for two counts of making terrorist threats at his residence on County Road 1283 in Vinemont on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Major Scott Clay said the threats came in the early morning hours on Tuesday and the family took a warrant out for his arrest.

“The warrant was issued on Wednesday after he threatened to do harm to his family,” Clay said. “He had made threats to family members for about two weeks and it escalated on the 17th as he was calling them all through the night. We did a report the following day and obtained a warrant for terrorist threats, and then we picked him up.”

Hudson was taken to the Cullman County Detention Center and is being held on a $20,000 bond.

Alabama Code Section 13A-10-15 defines “terrorist threats” as:

b. Provides to a law enforcement officer, adult or juvenile probation officer, prosecuting attorney, or judge any information relating to the commission or possible commission of an offense under the laws of this state, of the United States, or a violation of conditions of bail, pretrial release, probation, or parole.

The crime of making a terrorist threat is a Class-C felony.
