Severe thunderstorms nearing Cullman County

CULLMAN — Cullman County is under a severe thunderstorm watch as a line of thunderstorms packing winds up to 40 miles per hour and pea-sized hail moves near the area.

The National Weather Service reports that impacted areas would include Cullman, Hanceville, Good Hope, Baileyton, Holly Pond, Fairview, South Vinemont, Colony and West Point.

Frequent lightning can be expected with the storms. Weather service officials are advising residents to monitor the weather closely.
