The Cullman Times
Just a few days after a destructive thunderstorm wiped out trees and power lines across Cullman County, a potential new weather problem is moving toward the area.
The National Weather Service is reporting a 60 percent chance of snow and sleet for most of north Alabama Thursday, including Cullman County.
The greatest risk for accumulation will be in higher elevations, but some local roads could become hazardous if temperatures drop Thursday night.
Cullman County Emergency Management Agency director Phyllis Little said the expected snow and sleet should arrive locally late Thursday night and early Friday morning.
The precipitation is expected to turn to rain Friday, accompanied by warming temperatures.
