Meteor shower reportedly causes loud 'booms' in area

CULLMAN — A meteor shower reportedly caused residents in and around Cullman County to hear loud "booms" at approximately 5:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

Numerous locals took to social media Tuesday afternoon to report sightings of flashes in the sky and loud booms, which many mistook potentially to sound like an airplane crash.
