CULLMAN — Good morning, readers, this is what's happening in your county today:


Patch crews will be working on Walker St., 4th Ave. SE and 4th St. SE; as well as constructing curbs on Rosemont Ave. SW.


Today there’ll be a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 80.

Tonight, some patchy fog after 1 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 55.

Best bets for today:

The Nimble Thimble Quilt Guild will meet at 9:30 a.m. in the Cullman Museum basement at 211 2nd Ave. NE, Cullman 35055.

The West Point High School Quarterback Club will hold their homecoming supper at 4 p.m. in the middle school lunchroom, 4545 County Road 1141, Vinemont 35179. Meal is $9/person and includes spaghetti, salad, bread, beverage. Eat in or carry out. All proceeds benefit the footbball program.

Celebrating its one-year anniversary, Yogurt Mountain, 1877 Cherokee Ave. SW, Cullman 35055, invites all of Cullman to a three-day celebration starting on today and ending Sunday.

Each day will have different prize giveaways. Beginning Friday, one free Yogurt Mountain T-shirt will be given way each hour from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Saturday, there will be a drawing for a free six-month membership to the Cullman Aquatic Center. Festivities culminate on Sunday with a drawing for one person to win free yogurt for a year! To be eligible, customers must register at the Yogurt Mountain in Cullman.

Seniors, get your flu shots at the nearest Commission On Aging senior center. These flu shots are provided by Hospital Discount Pharmacies Central and West and Lakeside Pharmacy at Dodge City. Today, the clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Cullman Civic Center.
