UPDATE: Stabbing victim airlifted to Birmingham hospital

CULLMAN — A man was airlifted to a Birmingham-area hospital Thursday after he was stabbed inside a mobile home near the Battleground community.

The identity of the man was not released, but Sheriff Mike Rainey said the one visible wound was to the victim’s abdomen.

Investigators were at the scene of the stabbing, which occurred between 3:30 and 3:40 p.m., for nearly two hours after the incident. Reports from authorities at the scene indicated two men fought inside the mobile home, resulting in one being injured. No arrests have been made in the case.

The incident occurred on County Road 1109 in an area between Crossroad Church and Battleground.
