The lake at Sportsman Lake Park will be open to the public for fishing, and at free of charge until further notice.
According to Cullman County Park and Recreation Park manager Delitha Marchman, the county is trying to remove as many fish as possible before lowering the water level of the lake for observations.
A limit of 50 permits will be given out each day beginning at 8 a.m. at the park concession stand, and will continue to be given out until further notice. Only one per person, per week is allowed.
Marchman said there is no limit on the number of fish that can be caught. No motorized boats are allowed.
