Retired teachers: The Cullman Education Retirees Association (CERA) will meet at 11 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Conference Center, 916 Convent Road Cullman 35055. Speaker will be Janice Charlesworth, executive director/AERA. Healthwise Screening will be from 9 a.m. to noon. Eligible insurance is PEEHIP BC/BS, Southland Supplemental or Viva HMO.

The Elks Lodge will served German meals from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Festhalle Market Platz.

8 cups apple cider
1/8 tsp. cinnamon
1 pinch ground cloves
1 pinch cardamom
Honey (taste)
1 slice fresh lemon (garnish)
Heat and serve with crackers and cheese. This drink is delicious and is a great alternative to coffee in the cool evening hours.
