Police question suspect in laundromat burglary

The Cullman Police Department has identified a suspect in the burglaries that occurred on last Tuesday and Wednesday night at the West End Laundromat on 1418 4th Street SW in Cullman.

Sgt. Marsha Norris, who is taking point on the investigation, cannot release the name of the suspect at this time.

The suspect allegedly broke into a Pepsi machine, washing machine and dollar exchanger and attempted to steal money. The suspect also stole part of the recording equipment from the laundromat, but those items have reportedly been recovered by the police.

More than $3,500 in damage has been recorded so far.

Police say the laundromat’s security recording system caught two suspects on camera. No other information has been released at this time in the ongoing investigation and police are still investigating.

Norris said this could be related to a string of break-ins, but it has not been confirmed.
