Victim in Tuesday afternoon wreck identified by troopers

CULLMAN — Alabama State Troopers are continuing to investigate a single-vehicle accident Tuesday that the claimed the life of an area woman and left two others injured.

A passenger in the vehicle, Heather Walker, 28, of Arab, died in the wreck. She was not wearing a seatbelt, according to a report filed by troopers at the scene of the accident on County Road 1834 in Cullman County.

The driver of the vehicle, Steven Charles Martin, 32, of Arab, and another passenger, Amy Hatley, 36, of Union Grove, were both injured. Troopers report that both driver and passenger were not wearing seatbelts.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation. The accident occurred about 3:34 p.m. Tuesday.
