Troopers release names of injured in county wreck; identity of fatality withheld

CULLMAN — Two people injured in a wreck this afternoon in Cullman County have been indentified as Steven Charles Martin, 32,  Arab, the driver of the vehicle, and Amy Hatley, 36, Union Grove. Both the driver and the passenger were not wearing seatbelts, according to a spokesman at the Alabma State Troopers Decatur post.

The injured were taken to Huntsville Hospital, according to the Trooper spokesman. The wreck was reported around 3:30 p.m., but troopers and other emergency personnel were still on the scene two hours later.

Efforts to contact the victim’s family were still under way well past 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Troopers report that the accident occurred on County Road 1834, which is close to Baileyton and Joppa. No information is available about the cause of the accident as troopers continue to investigate.
