CULLMAN — Good morning! Here's a look at today's events:

Traffic news:

The Cullman County Road Department will be performing maintenance on County Road 436 in the southwest part of the county. Regular summer maintenance crews will be working around the county.

The Cullman City Street Department will have patching crews throughout the city; drivers are cautioned to slow down and be wary of other traffic in these areas.



Weather:

No triple digits today — A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 96. Light northwest wind becoming west 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Tonight, a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 a.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 71.



Best bets:

Boston butt and rib sale: The Dodge City Lions Club’s sale will begin at 8 a.m. July 3, in the empty lot next to S&S Foods in Dodge City, 4340 County Road 216, Hanceville 35057. Butts are $25 and a rack of ribs are $20. All proceeds will go to Lions Club projects.



Breastfeeding support group: CRMC’s breastfeeding support group will meet at 9 a.m. in the CRMC Community Education Center in Professional Office Building II (1912 Alabama Highway 157, POB II, Cullman, AL 35058). Info: CRMC Nursery at 256-737-2221.



VFW Tuesday night dance: VFW Post 2214 Ladies’ Auxiliary, 112 Veterans Ave. in Cullman, has a country dance starting at 7 p.m. Concessions available. Admission is $5; public welcome.
