Fairview council approves $150k loan for street projects

FAIRVIEW — The Fairview town council agreed Monday to take out a $150,000 loan from Merchant’s Bank to complete local street projects.

Fairview Mayor Dale Seals said the town was initially receiving a $400,000 grant from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA), but are now only able to get $300,000 from the grant. “We’re excited to move forward with the street projects and getting them completed,” Seals said. “There is growth happening in Fairview right now and we’re thrilled about it.”

Seals said that the town is in the bid process, and then should begin working on the roads, including Randall Shedd Lane which will leads to the local ballparks.

“The road is being named for former Mayor Shedd because he started the project,” Seals said. “The road leading from Fairview to Hollypond will also be re-paved.
