Empty Bowls: Good chili for a good cause

CULLMAN — The 10th annual Empty Bowls dinner packed Hearin Hall at First United Methodist Church in Cullman. Organizers hoped to fill the more than one thousand bowls with Bobby Nolen's famous chili. Volunteers spent months crafting the ceramic pieces.

Previous attendee Cindy Ponder of Cullman brought her mother Esther Sparks to the event, her first.

"The chili was excellent and the atmosphere was very good," said Ponder who was enjoying musical group The Revelations.

The event is a fundraiser for Cullman Caring For Kids Food Bank.
