Political forum Tuesday for District 11 candidates

The Cullman Times is joining with the Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce to host a political forum for the candidates seeking the District 11 House of Representatives seat.

Candidates include four Republicans and one Democrat. The seat was vacated in December, when longtime officeholder Jeremy Oden accepted an appointment from Gov. Robert Bentley to serve on the Alabama Public Service Commission.

The forum will get under way Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. with a luncheon at All Steak restaurant’s third-floor banquet room. Meals are optional, but anyone wishing to dine or attend should contact the chamber of commerce by Monday at 256-734-0454.

Candidates will be asked a series of questions about issues facing the state and the district.

Times Editor David Palmer and Brian Lacy, a member of the chamber’s governmental committee, will ask questions. The question-and-answer session is expected to begin at noon.
