County schools closing; multiple wrecks reported

CULLMAN — Cullman County schools will release students at 1 p.m. today as snow continues to fall across the area.

Area law enforcement agencies are working multiple wrecks throughout Cullman County because of hazardous driving conditions, particularly around bridges and higher elevations.

Wallace State Community College is closing at 12:15 p.m. today.

Cullman City Schools have not announced a closing time, but all after-school programs, including extended day, have been canceled.

Snow is expected to continue into the evening hours before the weather system passes through. Temperatures are expected to drop below freezing by evening time and leave roads icy and dangerous for motorists.
