CULLMAN — Good morning, readers, this is what's happening in your county today:


The Cullman City Street Department will have a crew painting curbs in the downtown area today; no expected delays in traffic.


Today: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 92. Southwest wind around 10 mph.

Tonight: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 70. South wind 5 to 10 mph.

Coffee With A Cop: Officers from the Cullman City Police Department with host a community event, Coffee With A Cop at 7 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, at Jack’s on Main Avenue in Cullman. Six to eight officers will be involved in the event. This is not for bringing complaints against officers, to contact the Cullman City Police Department with those concerns. This event is for discussing community issues and meeting local officers over a cup of coffee. For more information about Coffee With A Cop, or hosting an event, call 256-734-1434.

Company reunion: Grief Bros. plant will hold a reunion for former employees and their spouses, at noon Saturday, June 29, at the Dodge City Travel Center restaurant, dutch treat. Info: Howard Kent at 256-339-5030.

Alumni to hold concert, silent auction and carriage rides: Eva School will be have in concert, the Flashbacks Show Band, a multi-dimensional band playing hits from the '60s through modern day. They will appear from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 12, in the school gymnasium, 20 School Road, Eva 35621. Tickets are $20 for liminted reserved seating; $15 general admission. Concessions will be available. All proceeds will benefit the Alumni courtyard at the school. Silent auction will take place at this time.
