CULLMAN — Good morning, readers, this is what's happening in your county today:
The Cullman City Street Department reports that Sunset Drive off Highway 278 and Convent Road will be closed to traffic; Beech Avenue will have traffic delays due to maintenance. Also, in the downtown area, a crew will be painting curbs — drivers should be aware of their presence and proceed with caution.
Today: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 90. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph.
Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. South wind around 5 mph.

Summer youth camps: Cullman City Parks and Recreation will host several camps this summer. Registration for all activities will be at the McGukin Civic Center-Cullman.
Archery camp: June 25-27, with a second camp from July 29-Aug. 2. Campers will meet from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Cullman Archery Park. For ages 7-14. Cost will be $75.
Junior tennis lessons: Sessions will begin on these three dates: June 17 and July 8. All three sessions will be held at 8 a.m.: Beginners Monday-Thursday; intermediate and advanced on same days at 9 a.m.

Free goat and sheep pasture walk: Pasture Walk and Farm Tour will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 29. Informal talk and pasture walk will include a tour of Rick Story’s farm. Rick is a livestock producer with a great forage management program, and he has an efficient rainwater collection system to provide some of his water needs on the farm.
Experts from Alabama Cooperative Extension and USDA’s NRCS office will be on hand to discuss beneficial concepts and programs. Representatives from producer groups and other producers will be there to talk and share about their experiences.
The Story farm is at 3775 County Road 783, Cullman 35083 (Holly Pond community).
