The Cullman City Street Department will be patching on 5th Ave. SE between 4th and 5th Streets; patching on road near the high school baseball field, and on 4th Ave. SE near East Elementary School.
Weather:
Today there’ll be isolated showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 95. Heat index values as high as 102. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 10 percent.
Tonight is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 73. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Looking ahead:
Just a reminder: The community of Vinemont is invited to participate in the cleanup of all Vinemont School campuses from 8 to 11 a.m. Aug. 4, with a cookout from 11 a.m. to noon.
School is about to begin Aug. 20: New director of Covenant School, Jennie Reid, is now accepting applications for the 2012-13 school year for ages three through first grade. The school is located at 1310 St. Joseph Dr. NW, Cullman 35055, behind Christ Covenant Presbyterian School. Many options, including full day, half day, 2-, 3- and 5 days a week.
