Area flags lowered to half staff in remembrance of Wisconsin tragedy

CULLMAN — Flags all around Cullman were lowered to half-staff Wednesday, in honor and remembrance of the victims of the Oak Creek, Wisconsin tragedy.

A shooting rampage on Sunday in the town left six members of a local Sikh temple dead.

At the request of President Barack Obama, Alabama Governor Robert Bentley has directed flags to be displayed at half-staff effective yesterday .

Flags across the state are expected to remain at half-staff until sunset on Friday, August 10.
