With the 2012-2013 school year just a few weeks away, Cullman County Board of Education Superintendent Billy Coleman has announced the prayer caravan schedule for Saturday, Aug.11.
The caravan was first held last year, with voluntary prayer sessions at each county school campus, and Coleman said he hopes to make the event an annual tradition.
“This is the second year we’ve done this, and we had a lot of people participate at the various campuses last year,” he said. “It’s a long day, but it’s a great day. We believe prayer makes a difference, and we’re trying to lift up our school system, and our kids and parents. We’ve been very blessed by God and we want to make sure we stay grounded in all the many blessings we have. It’s a time I truly think brings communities together, where people have a chance to pray together.”
The event is open to the public, and short prayer sessions will be hosted at each high school campus.
The schedule includes:
8 a.m., Garden City School, in front of school.
8:40 a.m., Hanceville schools, in front of high school.
