2013 Taste of Cullman Cookbook ‘Let’s Eat’

The Cullman Times is accepting recipes for the 2013 Taste of Cullman Cookbook. So, dust off the recipe box and pull out your favorite recipes to share and submit them for the 2013 Taste of Cullman Cookbook, “Let’s Eat.” Deadline for recipe submission is at 5 p.m. July 19. Recipes may be faxed, emailed, mailed or brought to The Cullman Times, 300 4th Ave. SE, Cullman 35055; cookingcontest@cullmantimes.com; or fax them to 256-737-1006. Please specify the category for each recipe, along with your name, address and phone number. If mailing, faxing or dropping off, please submit it hand printed or typed, one recipe per full sheet of paper. Since each recipe will be put into a category folder, please only put one recipe per page.

Categories are From Cullman Farms (this category is for local items that Cullman is known to grow or produce), Appetizers, Soups&Salads, Main Dishes, Side Dishes, Desserts, and Breads. These recipes may be your original or just a family favorite that was once somebody else’s, gleamed from a magazine, friends, family, neighbors or on the Internet. If you’ve changed an ingredient or two from an original recipe to suit your taste, we’d like to have that recipe! If you’ve found a unique dish your friends rave about, send it in! If Grandma’s pancakes are unsurpassable, pass them along to us to share with our readers.

Each recipe submitted will be reviewed and from each category three recipes will be chosen to compete in our recipe contest. A first-, second- and third-place recipe will be chosen for each category and these recipes will be featured in the cookbook. The top three recipes chosen from each category will be asked to prepare their recipe and bring to The Cullman Times at 5 p.m. July 30 for judging. The dishes that are prepared will be photographed prior to judging. You may submit more than one recipe, but a limited number of recipes will be selected for the cookbook.

If you do not want to participate in the contest, you may still submit recipes for the cookbook; just make a notation on your recipe sheet that it isn’t for the contest, just the cookbook.
