Holly Pond girls headed to state finals; boys fall

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Holly Pond girls basketball teams is headed to the state finals after knocking off Straughn 38-30 this evening in Birmingham.

Holly Pond's boys team fell short against Southside Selma by a score of 60-44. Holly Pond led at halftime.

The girls team will play at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Birmingham-Jefferson County Civic Center against either Lauderdale County or Midfield.
