The Cullman Times
Thursday marked a surge of donations in The Cullman Times’ Cares & Shares food drive.
One contributor dropped off a check for $1,000. A few others brought $100 gifts. Several others handed off $25 contributions while some brought bags of canned goods.
The Times has elected to extend the food drive to Friday, Nov. 1, ending at 5 p.m. Donations have now reached well over 12,000 pounds but several organizations are still working to gather funds for the food drive.
The goal is 120,000 pounds, which is just a bit higher than last year’s record 118,000 pounds.
Donations may be brought to The Times office between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. All donations benefit the Cullman Caring for Kids food bank, which provides assistance to local families.
