Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 75. North wind 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 48. North wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light in the evening.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 79. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph.

Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 48. Calm wind.

Sunday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. Calm wind.

Sunday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56.

Memorial Day: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 85.

Monday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 61.

Best bets:

Swamp John’s meal: Cold Springs High School Varsity and JV cheerleaders will host a Swamp John’s meal from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Dodge City Town Hall, 130 Howard Circle, Hanceville 35077. Plates are $10 each: choice of fish, shrimp or chicken with fries, hushpuppies, slaw, dessert and beverage. Proceeds to go to cheerleaders.

SLEPC cleanup at Smith Lake: The Smith Lake Environmental Preservation Committee will meet from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to noon May 25 at the Smith Lake Boat Ramp, 416 County Road 385, Cullman 35057. Committee persons will pick at large styrofoam and then change to pick up trash. Lunch served each day: Hamburgers and hotdogs.

Ribeye steak sandwiches for sale: The Cullman County Cattlemen and Cattlewomen will sell ribeye steak sandwiches Memorial Day weekend the Cullman Shopping Center. Dates are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 25. Sandwiches are $5 each.

Boston butt and rib sale: The Dodge City Lions Club will sell Boston butts and ribs at 8 a.m. May 24-25 (Memorial Day weekend) at the lot next to S&S Foods in Dodge City. Butts are $25 and a rack of ribs is $20. Proceeds will go to Lions’ community projects.
