A Cullman County man died Saturday afternoon in a single vehicle motorcycle accident.
Jeffrey Benjamin Hill, 33, of Eva was killed after crashing his 2000 Suzuki motorcycle near Joppa. The accident occurred on County Road 1555 at approximately 2 p.m., according to Alabama State Trooper reports. He was wearing a helmet when the crash occurred.
Before his death, Hill worked as a carpenter in the area.
Cullman County coroner Gary Murphree said he was not called to the scene of the accident and did not have any information on the case. For Hill’s full obituary, see online obits.
There have been 332 fatalities in Alabama year-to-date, compared to 405 at the same time in 2009.
In a separate weekend crash, a Hanceville man was injured Sunday at 12:02 a.m. in a one vehicle accident.
Torres Gonzalez, whose age is unknown, was a passenger in a 2002 Chevy truck that crashed on Highway 91, six miles south of Holly Pond. The driver of the truck ran from the scene and his identity is unknown, according to trooper reports.
The extent of Gonzalez’s injuries were unknown by deadline of this article.
