Rain did not stop more than 1,300 Cullman Electric Cooperative members along with hundreds of other friends and family from coming to Northbrook Church on Saturday morning for the 77th Cullman EC Annual Meeting.
Three current members of the nine-person board of trustees were elected to new three-year terms on the board. In District 2, board member Lynda Carter received 3,203 votes, Tim Butts received 2,014 and Keith Wise received 1,437. In District 4, James Fields won re-election with 3,873 votes over Martha Hart who received 2,709. In District 6, Daryl Calvert was re-elected with 3,647 votes over Jeff Byars with 2,906. A proposition to make changes to the co-op bylaws was approved by a vote of 2,947 to 1,676.
A total of 7,004 votes were cast in the election, with 6,631 being received over the past month through mail-in voting.
