The suspect in a robbery at Cullman Heritage Park has been indicted on a first-degree robbery charge in circuit court.
Dustin Raymond Lopez, 21, was arrested by authorities in April by authorities citing eye-witness testimony in the ongoing investigation. District Attorney Wilson Blaylock said he is confident they will be able to prove the case against Lopez.
“There is eyewitness testimony placing him in the vehicle leaving the scene and investigators feel they have a timeline of events they are comfortable with,” Blaylock said.
On April 23 at Cullman Heritage Park, the suspect reportedly approached a man sitting in his vehicle and demanded money in the late morning. The man initially refused to give up his money, and at that time the suspect pulled a handgun. The suspect reportedly left the scene in a silver Mercedes.
The arraignment for Lopez will be August 2, where a judge will explain to the defendant what he is being charged with. Following the arraignment, the trial date will be set.
First degree robbery is a Class-A felony. If Lopez is convicted, he is facing 10-99 years of jail time.
