Strong storms expected in Cullman as cold front approaches overnight

CULLMAN — A line of thunderstorms associated with a strong cold front will move across north Alabama overnight, bringing the potential for severe storms and gusty winds.

The storms will move into northwest Alabama around 1 a.m. and begin moving through the Cullman area by 3 a.m. or earlier, according to the National Weather Service.

At this time, the National Weather Service is reporting that the stronger storms may occur west of Interstate 65. Still the potential for strong storms with locally heavy rainfall exists in the Cullman area.

The more intense elements of the storm should be through the area by 5 a.m. Showers and thunderstorms may continue through 1 p.m. Saturday as the high temperature peaks at 80.

Saturday’s low will fall to 54. Sunday is expected to be sunny with a high of 80.
