Kilgo removed from interim director post at NARCOG

DECATUR — The North-central Alabama Council of Local Governments board of directors voted to override an earlier decision to name Kenneth Kilgo interim director of the organization during a meeting this afternoon in Decatur.

Kilgo, who serves as mayor of West Point, was tabbed last week to take over the role of director on a temporary basis after Lona Johns announced her retirement at a meeting in Holly Pond. During that meeting, the board also accepted Morgan County back into the organization after changes were made in the board’s voting structure.

Morgan County officials attended the meeting today in Decatur. Stefanie Franklin, who currently serves as director of aging for NARCOG, was named interim director.
